October has become fairly frenetic here in the village, with Rebel Wilson set to make her directorial debut with a feature film using Carcoar as the stage set.
We have limited availability to join us for the rest of this month. If you’d like to experience our current set menu, last chances are Sunday 22 October 1pm & Friday 27 October 7pm. There will be a new menu for November.
We are also hosting the grand finale of our food + wine matching events for the year on Sunday 29 October with Cargo Road Wines. Paolo has curated an extra special set menu to complement the stunning Cargo Road Wines Sparkling Sauvignon, Riesling & Zinfandel. More details below.
In other exciting news for Carcoar, work is commencing on new luxury hotel accommodation The Victoria 1846. Owned by Channel 7 Sunrise personality Edwina Bartholomew & journalist husband Neil Varcoe this is going to be a stunning addition to the village when it opens in 2025. And they are holding a garage sale on Sunday 29 October prior to work commencing - details below.

ANTICA + CARGO ROAD WINES » Join Antica Australis + Cargo Road Wines for an elevated food + wine matching event on Sunday 29 October during the 2023 Orange Wine Festival.
Cargo Road Wines owner & local Orange region vigneron, James Sweetapple will be hosting a private wine tasting of the portfolio of Cargo Road Wines from 12pm to 1pm on the day at Antica Australis.
Followed by a four course set menu lunch from 1pm curated for the event by Antica’s Paolo Picarazzi with three matched Cargo Road wines. Additional wine available for purchase at the event. No BYO.
Tickets $160 per person
Have a village day out on Sunday 29 October and combine a ticket for our food + wine matching event with Cargo Road Wines with a stroll through The Victoria’s garage sale which will be open from 9am.

SEPTEMBER 2024 & 2025
Reservations are now open for our Ciociaria cultural travel experiences, set to commence from September 2024.
We were running our Wild Heart of Italy experiences to Ciociaria for three years before the pandemic hit, following seven years of intensive on-ground research with the help of our many dear Ciociarian friends who are artisanal producers, academics and archeologists.
We have designed an introductory itinerary for you to experience Ciociaria at the beginning of Autumn with us. We’ll be staying in a 1,000 year old Monastery with beautifully renovated rooms (with own ensuites) in the gorgeous mountaintop village of Veroli, which is where Paolo’s father was born.
You’ll be meeting the Ciociarian culinary creatives, local producers, vignerons & local artisans who have been the inspiration for our Antica Australis journey, and explore the layers of ancient Samnite, Roman & Medieval history of Ciociaria in central Italy with us.
